    Our Company

Programmed is a leading provider of operations and maintenance services across all industry sectors including education, health, infrastructure, manufacturing, transport and mining in Australia and New Zealand.

We are one of Australia’s largest employers with more than 25,000 employees.
We have more than 1000 trainees and apprentices and we know how to take young adults and make them into supervisors, leaders and great contributors to their communities. We enable our people to gain a diverse range of task skills and industry experience to give them job and financial independence as industries and business evolve and change.
We get safety right on the ground and our own people believe in the goal of zero harm and operate with significantly less incidents and injuries than their peers. Our focus on the elimination of unplanned events prevents injuries and improves productivity. Studies undertaken by Griffith University have shown that our focus on safety and core values also results in our people having high customer service orientation and job satisfaction.
We put together teams of the right people with the right skills to deliver the operational and / or maintenance services required from our large employee base. We manage people effectively (safety, training, values, culture, payroll, awards, regulations, superannuation, diversity, apprenticeships, career development) in full compliance with the law and with high levels of employee engagement in an increasingly regulated environment, and we deliver operational improvements, flexibility and high levels of satisfaction to our customers.

    Our values
Our core values provide a behavioural framework for all employees, across all divisions, at all times.
We display personal safety leadership each and every day. We believe all injuries are preventable. We act to ensure the health, safety and environmental wellbeing of our customers, the public and ourselves.
We show care and empathy for the people around us; our employees, customers and the communities we work in. We respect everyone's contribution by working together to achieve common goals and project outcomes. We believe that everyone comes to work wanting to do a great job. We are prepared to ask "R U OK?" if our colleagues are performing differently.
Our people display what we like to call good old-fashioned customer service. We imagine how we would like to be served, if we were the customer. We do what we say we are going to do.
We seek a workforce that is representative of the communities we work in. We strive for a team that reflects a diverse society in consideration of culture, gender, age, sexual orientation and abilities. We recognise the value and importance of attracting, engaging and retaining employees with different backgrounds, experience and perspectives. We aim to create a safe and inclusive environment, where people are treated equally and are free of all forms of discrimination.
    Our commitment to safety
At Programmed, safety is at the forefront of everything we do. We live by the philosophy that all injuries are preventable.
Our people work hard to deliver Programmed's purpose and commit to our values. Safety is embedded in our culture and we encourage our people to take an active role in visibly demonstrating safety leadership, regardless of their organisational position and location. We’re supported by leading health, safety and environment systems which provide us with real-time data and analytics. These in turn help us become a safer, more reliable service provider.

      Safety Commitments
Every member of our team commits to our vision by ensuring they protect their own wellbeing, as well as the safety of their co-workers, the public, and the environments and communities where they work and live.
      Zero Harm

Our Zero Harm goal ensures we’re taking the right steps so that each of our employees and customers return home in the same state they arrived – injury free. It also encompasses Zero Harm to the natural environments in which we work and operate.

    Our history
      History

We started as Norman Miles Paint Services in 1951, with just one paint van and a few tradesmen on the brushes.

Programmed now employs more than 20,000 people each day across a range of disciplines providing services to over 10,000 customers, and is one of the largest providers of operations and maintenance services across Australia and New Zealand.

We’ve grown as a result of a number of acquisitions over the years, and each service offering we provide has a rich history which contributes to the overall Programmed journey. We’re proud of our roots and achievements to date. From a small painting company founded 68 years ago, we have become a leader in our field. Programmed was acquired by PERSOL Group on 27 October 2017. To learn more, visit the PERSOL GROUP website.
